June is the month of the Sacred Heart, and we will have as our guest His Excellency, Bishop Daniel Dolan, on our show next week to talk about the Sacred Heart, the Enthronement ceremony, and the status of the Divine Mercy devotion: competitor or complement?
We will be taking calls via twitter (@truerestoration), facebook (www.facebook.com/truerestorationpress), and via phone. Show will start at 2pm CST on June 26th.
Dear Mr. Heiner,
I hope that you and Bishop Dolan give Newsaint Faustina and the appalling Divine Mercy phenomenon the denunciation they merit.
I cannot believe that I am alone in seeing the now ubiquitous image accompanying the devotion—Our Lord standing, with mercy streaming down from His Sacred Heart in a cone-shaped arc—as suggestive of His having a sacrilegiously dubious sexuality. That is to say, the image might easily be seen as Our Lord garbed in a dress.
I do not think that such a subliminal reaction was unanticipated by those who worked with JPII to shove Faustina's several-times-condemned ramblings down our collective throat. On that ground alone, the devotion should be abhorrent to us all.
