Monkey Business and Great News

Many call upon St. Benedict and wear his medal as protection against the devil, and rightly so, but did you know that another monastic father claims a similar power?  On Friday 4th was celebrated the feast of Saint Dominic, and Augusta Theodosia Drane’s St. Dominic and the Attacks of the Devil, shared by Catholic Harbor of Faith and Morals, gives account of several legends and stories of the saint’s many encounters with the demon.  One legend is that Satan appeared to him in the form of a monkey, another anecdote recalls the demonic possession of a glutton and you’ll get to find out which room in the monastery he hates most, it being where his progress is undone and plans are foiled.
