Reverend Father Philip Eldracher

Fr. Philip Eldracher is a Catholic priest who currently serves as the pastor of Mary Help of Christians Chapel in Melbourne, Australia. He completed his seminary training at the Most Holy Trinity Seminary in Brooksville, Florida, and was ordained a priest on June 29th, 2016, by Bishop Sanborn. Initially, Fr. Eldracher's plans included a teaching post at the parish school and managing the seminary, but he was unexpectedly sent to Australia to establish a permanent Catholic chapel due to the fervor and sacrifice of the faithful there.

As a young priest, Fr. Eldracher recognizes the change in perspective from being a recipient of religious instruction to being the one who instructs others in matters of faith and morals. He sees his sermons as directed at himself, drawing from his own experiences and the challenges of living in a modern culture. He believes it is crucial for parents to reject the worldly influences and instill in their children a love for God and a hatred for sin from a young age to prevent them from being swayed by the allurements of the world.

Fr. Eldracher also emphasizes the importance of priests living the words they preach and not compromising with the world. He notes the significance of frequent Confession and its ability to help individuals avoid sin in the future. As a priest, he finds inspiration and enrichment in visiting the sick and hearing Confessions, as it reminds him of the fragility of life and the need for constant repentance.

Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Fr. Eldracher currently services four additional mission bases throughout Australia.
